EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR AWARD
JANE LAWSON
The 2017 Annual Safety Award is presented to Jane Lawson for dedication to the value of a safe work environment. Jane has been employed with Council of the Southern Mountains for three years in the Title XIX Waiver Program with no accidents or injuries reported. Jane recently quit smoking and began quilting as a way to help her quit; Jane donated one of her hand-made quilts to the Retired Senior and Volunteer Program for a raffle.
Ms. Lawson has been an inspiration to others in the agency by showing them what true commitment to the safety and well-being of herself and others means. By accomplishing these tasks, Jane represents the effectiveness of the safety program by maintaining safety rules, practices, and policies as set forth by Council of the Southern Mountains. Congratulations Jane Lawson for a “Job Well Done!”

RUTH BROWN
Whenever we see a rainbow there is a spirit that comes over us providing a sense of joy and hope. At that moment, only the beauty of the rainbow is viewed, not the forbidding clouds that surround. This is the same spirit that comes to people when they are near Ruth Brown, Trainer in the CSM Fitness Center. Ruth is truly filled with kindness and compassion toward everyone and her spirit is contagious, as no one leaves her presence that is not inspirited to shine their own wonderful palate across life’s sky. Ruth’s very presence fills our world with light, encouragement and, ultimately, hope.
